Climbing Instructor Assessment

Participants on CI courses must have progressed through the previous levels, they need to have significant broad personal climbing experience and professional experience at SPG and MPG level. The CI qualification covers the skills to teach and instruct all aspects of rock climbing / abseil activities including teaching trad lead climbing, climbing coaching / movement, multi pitch climbing, complex rescue scenarios etc.

Description

Entry requirements:

Should be a qualified MPG and have completed the CI Training and all interim log book requirements.
Individuals who satisfy the assessment requirements at this level will be competent to teach others to be independent climbers (top-rope, lead climbing and abseiling). They will demonstrate a high level of personal climbing competence and would normally be leading to a minimum of grade 16 on traditional gear.
