Indoor Climbing Guide Assessment
This is a qualification aimed directly at indoor and artificial wall climbing staff. A qualified Indoor Climbing guide can guide, teach and supervise climbing activities at indoor and outdoor artificial climbing walls and towers, including top roped climbing, bouldering and auto belayed climbing. In doing so an Indoor Climbing Guide always maintains a high level of control over clients (clients do not lead climb)
Assessment Course
To be issued a qualification as an ACIA Indoor Climbing Guide, completion of the following is required:
- Completion of the training course
- Logged experience assisting/observing on at least 5 days (equivalent) of climbing activity delivery at indoor walls/artificial climbing walls
- Logged experience, equivalent to at least 5 days (min 40 routes) personal experience climbing across multiple venues (at least 3)
- Successful completion of the 1-day practical assessment course – competence with all aspects of the syllabus and all prerequisites is required.
- Successful completion of theory tasks (session plan)
- Current first aid qualification
