Description

Entry requirements:

• Must have completed an approved TRG training program or gained an exemption from the ACIA.
• Must present a logbook detailing (at least) the minimum requirements of climbing and instructing experience (consolidation requirements) since the training course.

I heard you don’t teach trad anchor placements during the top-rope guide training courses or assessments anymore. Is this true?

No it is not. Unfortunately a committee discussion caused some confusion a while back. The Climbing Company definitely teaches our candidate guides how trad gear works during the training courses… and in Victoria at least we certainly place trad gear very often when building our own anchors, so as candidate guides being assessed here we would expect you to be able to do the same!

Please seee https://acia.com.au/course/top-rope-guide-assessment-1-day/ for full details.
Individuals who satisfy the assessment requirements will be competent to conduct top rope and abseiling sessions.
